Why should you learn Spanish as a second language?There are some really good reasons to learn Spanish as second language. Aside from the obvious reason of being able to communicate with other people who may speak Spanish, it may also be a great resumee' enhancer as well. Not to mention the fact that it may even open some new doors for you.

Take this for example. Even living in the good ol USA, if you can learn to speak Spanish then you could be a very valuable asset to many employers. You can be a translater on a construction site, in a manufacturing facility, maybe even the government. I know that in my area, several local police departments were encouraging anyone that would be willing to, and was able to do it, to please come down to the police station and help them communicate with the growing hispanic population.

This is because there simply were not many officers that were able to take phone calls from the hispanic population because they had no idea what they were calling about. In some cases the poloice would send officers out just to check out the situation only to find out that the callers were needing very ordinary things and were not in fact emergencies. The police departments quickly realized that without help from the coummunity that they were going to have a very underserved segment of the population. That opened up some great opportunities for many people that could speak English and Spanish.

So go ahead. Learn Spanish as a second language. It may be one of the best things you do for yourself.
